Luxury make-up test

Previously I made a post about drug store make-up products that I really like, but I have to be frank with you guys, I got my hands on some luxury brand make-up products over the last few years and they are just as precious to my heart. Since I have quite a few lipsticks I decided to make a whole new post about just those, so stay tuned. So here are some of my favourites.

MAC Strobe cream hydratant lumineux ($12)

This is a MAC primer that makes your skin look flawless and I absolutely love it. This to-go package is very affordable ($12) and you can get it here.

Chanel Les Beiges ($60)

I have two Chanel foundations and this one is my favourite. It is light, has hyaluronic acid in it which makes the tiny wrinkles disappear. It also has SPF 25, so it protects your skin from harmful sun rays. And on top of it all, it smells incredible. It’s not a high coverage foundation, but it gives a healthy glow and for me it’s perfect, not too heavy, not too light. I highly recommend it! You can get it here.

Chanel Perfection Lumiére velvet ($50)

Another Chanel foundation that is a whole lot different than the previous one. It has more coverage and a very interesting texture. It gives a matte finish without any powder, but it’s not that moisturizing than the Les Beiges one, so you definitely need a primer under this one. It also has an SPF 15, but I would recommend a higher SPF moisturizer under it. It does have a nice smell and better coverage than the other. Order here.

Dior Fix It ($36)

This product was one of my dream to get my hands on. It is a primer, concealer all in one which you can use on your eyes, lips and face. So convenient and so easy to use. I can only recommend this! Really! Not much more to say but the fact that this is used on supermodels at the Dior runway show before they go on the catwalk. Enough said! Order here.

MAC Blot powder/pressed ($27)

This is a pretty standard powder that controls oil, since I have an oily T-zone as most of us do, it’s perfect for that. It’s transparent and not too heavy. Get it here.

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for lips and cheeks – colour Pale Pink ($30)

This magical thing was one of the first purchases of luxury products of mine. I wanted a creamy blush because I felt like I could work with that better than a powder blush so it was an added bonus that I could also use it for a lip tint. I couldn’t find the exact same product, but this might be it with a new design.

Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color – Ombre cream satinee ($25)

This was another dream product of mine. I wasted to have that summer, shimmering, peachy look all the magazine girls had but without it being sticky and this is the perfect product for that. I mean it, if you want that wet-look, this is the one product you need to have. And it lasts all day without creasing! Get it here!

Estée Lauder New Dimension Shape + Skulpt Eye Kit ($40)

A whole palette, I thought it would save me so much time and effort…Well, unfortunately I was wrong. I love this brand, because I use their moisturizers, but to be honest this was a big disappointment. There is a primer on the left, a shimmering creamy shadow in the middle and a creasing brown powder like product on the right. Even if I use the primer or try a powder eye shadow under it, the middle eye shadow creases within minutes of putting it on. And the left brown powder is just not that easy to get in this brush, but will not work with other brushes. Even thought it looks beautiful when I put it on, minutes later I have to fix it. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but it does not work for me. 😦

Sephora Colorful Shadow & Liner ($14)

I don’t know if Sephora is considered a luxury product, but I’m gonna put it here, because I really like their stuff. This eye shadow and line is really worth its price. It shimmers, very pigmented and stays on all day. Get one yourself here!

Ka-Brow! ($24)

We live in a world where eyebrows and more important than ever and I thank my lucky star that I never had to really shape them, so now I just have to fill them out a little and I’m good to go. I tried brow pencils as well, but this is a genius product. Easy to use, lasts a very long time and comes with its own brush. They have other products you can use on your eyebrows, so check them out here.

Diorshow Iconic Overcurl ($29.50)

This mascara is a must in my book. The first time I tried Diorshow was from a magazine sample and I knew this was it! I have a lot of eyelashes, but since I dark blonde, they need a little help to be visible. So this mascara make them full, long and black as the night. It stays on, doesn’t come off and makes your lashes look gorgeous. Get it here.

Dior Nide Air Glowing Gardens Illuminating Powder – 002 Glowing nude

I saved the best for last. This highlighter is a dream. Like seriously. It comes with a gorgeous velvet case and a cute kabuki brush to make it even more fancy. It shimmers just the right amount stays on all day and the color is just perfection. It was a fortune but worth every penny I have to tell you. It was a limited edition product, so unavailable at the moment, but let’s hope they bring it back for spring.
