Leaving Los Angeles… for a year? Pt.1

Did you ever dream of living in a place? Did you ever actually make it there? Was it everything you hoped it would be?

Well, let me start in the beginning. When I was young I always wanted to leave my hometown and live in Budapest. When I was 18 that dream came true and I loved it.

Then I wanted to live in London and in 2012 I finally made the move, but unfortunately it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. I felt like I didn’t belong even though the city is gorgeous, I still felt like I needed to go back to Budapest.

Then in 2017 I got a chance to apply for an artist visa and had a chance to move to the USA. To the country that I’ve been longing to live in since I was about 15 years old, but I had no idea how. I always knew that I wanted to do everything the right way and it was finally my time.

Originally I wanted to go to New York City. That was my dream. But after talking to friends in the music business I decided I’m going to move to Los Angeles, CA. I knew nobody and had maybe $2000 in my pocket to start this new life with.

I was terrified of being alone, of driving in LA, of finding jobs, etc. But I did it because I was finally there. In the USA.

In the past 4 and a half years I grew to love LA: the beaches, the mountains, the art, the music, the food, found friends and found love. I was working in Beverly Hills at a Bloomingdale’s and performing at the Grafton Hotel on Sunset Blvd when Covid hit. Then everything shut down.

I was trapped in a tiny apartment with nowhere to go and nothing to do but wait. I felt trapped. Like we all did. Life slowly started up again just to be shut down again. It was very hard.

On the bright side we were able to save some money, so we decided to try and buy ourselves a cute condo that we can call our own. But life had other plans.

In late November 2021 my boyfriend got a call from a prestigious hotel in Dallas, Texas and they offered him a position of a lifetime. A huge stepping stone for him, but that meant we have to move to Dallas, Texas.

I’m not gonna lie, I took it really hard. We talked about it and felt like we needed a change. Our intentions of buying a condo were unsuccessful for 6 months so we took this as a sign.

I cried…a LOT. I didn’t want to let go of my California Dream…whatever it was at that point. I just felt like I wasn’t finished yet and that I was robbed of 2 years due to the pandemic. Like we all were.

But we decided to embark on this adventure. Since I was so hesitant to move, we agreed that we’re going to sign a 1-year lease on an apartment and talk about what we want before the lease is up. It sounds easy and fair, right? I thought so…

And then we arrived in Dallas. And I’m trying to make the best of it, but I just can’t shake the feeling of how much I miss California. I miss nature, the ocean, the sunsets, the palm trees, my go-to places. I just miss it. I didn’t want to leave, but for some reason I felt like I had to.

Sometimes life is funny that way. It presents a fantastic opportunity for someone and gives a challenge to the other person. I wish I loved it here. I wish I could see myself living here. I wish I could’ve brought my friends with me.

It’s only been a month and we don’t even have our furniture yet, so things can change. Nature will come alive in the spring, friends will come and visit.

The only things is I know myself…

To be continued…

Fancy stroll on Rodeo Drive

I just got a fresh haircut from the amazing Caitlin Sennott (@caitlin.sennott) and I thought to myself, I need to get that on film. So I teamed up with @othellomarxphotography and strolled Rodeo Drive and took advantage of the beautiful scenery. And also got a matcha latte from Alfred Tea House, cause that’s the best! 💚

When it gets hot in California, it’s HOTTTT! So I like wearing light and airy clothes to be able to move and be comfortable in the hot. So I have 2 of these pants, one is this baby blue and one in mint green. Both are super comfy, easily wearable with anything, can be casual or even chic with some high heels, like I did here. The pink shirt has been a part of my closet for a while, yet I find it pretty hard to wear it… but this time it worked.

I just got these naked heels that I absolutely love! They are from Zara and they are actually pretty comfy for high heels! And can be worn with literally anything!

Now let’s talk about the bandana! I found it a little challenging to do anything with my hair since it’s been this short, but with bandanas and pearl hair clips making their way into everyday fashion, I’m saved! Lol I really love this look and it worked really well with the outfit because of the pink and blue. I also have another bandana that’s more suitable for brown and green clothes, so I think I’m set for summer.

Do you like wearing hair accessories? Which ones?

I’m wearing shirt, pants, shoes and bag from Zara, watch from Walmart, bandana from H&M, necklace from &otherstories and Luna Norte, sunglasses from Gucci.

The magical poppy field

There are so many gorgeous places in California that most of the time I’m in awe of the place where I have the pleasure to live. It’s truly magical and beautiful. When I heard about the poppy blooming because of the crazy amounts of rain we had… well, for California at least, I know I had to see it. It was only an hour and a half drive from where I live and since I could spend the day with my boo, it was double worth it. ☺️ Here’s some proof of the beauty we witnessed at the poppy fields.

I’m wearing Zara dress, Cape Robbin shoes, H&M headband, Rayban sunglasses, Zara wooden bag.

What’s your favorite flower? Have you visited any poppy fields?

Songs I love – Pop #1

So I’m not sure if all you guys know that I’m a singer and music fanatic, but I thought it was time to unleash that side of me. So I decided to share with you my fave songs regularly, so if you like to discover new music or want to know what I listen to, this is your chance! 🎼

1. Backstreet Boys – Chances

If anyone knows me even a little bit knows, that I am the biggest Backstreet Boys fan!! Ok, maybe not the biggest, but definitely up there. I have been a fan since their very first European debut (since I European I had the privilege to know them before the rest of the world). This is their new song called Chances and it will give you all the feels. It’s a perfect pop song with flawless vocals and beautiful lyrics. Don’t be shy, give it a try! You won’t regret it! 🖤

2. Rita Ora – Velvet rope

I have been a fan of Rita’s since her first album. I followed her musical journey and it’s nice to see her finally doing music and not hosting tv shows and judging X-factor… I never really understood that… but let’s focus on her new album Phoenix. We know half of the songs on the album since she released lots in singles over the last couple of years. So from the rest of the songs I picked Velvet Rope as my favorite as it had a nice rhythm and whenever I hear it, it makes me happy. And I guess that’s what music is all about, making you feel things, right?

3. Lady Gaga – Always remember us this way

The new version of A Star is Born is one of the best movies I’ve seen all year and I think it’s an instant classic. Bradley Cooper is freaking fantastic in this movie both as an actor and a director. But let’s see the music. There are many great songs in this movie, but this one has something special. One of the most unique things about the music in A Star is Born is that they recorded them live, in front of a real festival audience. And that’s probably what makes it feel like you’re watching a love concert. And that feeling always gives me chills. Make sure you check out the movie ASAP and let me know what you think in the comments.

4. Michael Bublè – Love you anymore

What can I say about Michael Bublé… there would be no Christmas without him. But this time I specifically wanted to include a song from his brand new album so we don’t forget that he has great music not just at Christmas time (although we all know we’re already bumping ‘Holly Jolly Christmas’ in our car 🎄). This was the first single off of his brand new album released in November and it’s one of those albums that give you life and happiness when you listen to it. So if you want some chicken soup for your soul (and I mean his the best way possible) then check out the new Michael Bublè.

5. Little Mix -Told you so

In case you’re not familiar with the girl group Little Mix, they’re the only group winners of the British X-factor and I was fortunate enough to see their amazing win. I really liked them even then and I’ve been following their careers after the show. They released 4 albums and this is their 5th and it’s just as good as the previous ones. It’s full of girl empowerment and individuality. This song is an anthem for friendship and I really like it because I don’t think there are lot of songs for girl friends who stick together and hold each other in tough times even though we all need that and do that for our friends. The whole album is full of upbeat fun songs and I recommend that you also listen to other songs from their previous albums.

Did you know any of these songs? Which artists’s favorite songs do you want me to share with you guys? Let me know in the comments!

Another day, another beach

So we just recently had a heat wave in LA and believe me, it was NO fun. 47 freakin’ degrees Celsius is something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy…okay, maybe my worst enemy… for those of you living in the US, it was 120 degrees Farenheit. Bananas, right?!

So what does one do on hot days like this when there’s like dozens of beaches around…? I wonder… Ok, ok, just messin’ wit ya! Obviously I needed to go to a beach and this time it was Laguna Beach. So this post is more of a travel post than a fashion post, but still I had a super cute outfit on. LOL

Laguna Beach is famous for…well, the only thing I can think of right now, which I’m a little ashamed of, is a TV show… but anyways, it’s about an hour and 20 minutes from where I live at the moment, so not too bad. It was an easy drive as it was during a weekday. The only drama on the road was, that we accidentally drove on a toll road, but we got off at the first exit and I paid the toll the next day, so all is well with the worlds. LOL A little side note, I did not know that there were any roads around LA that you have to pay for…apparently I was wrong. Well, now I know! Haha

So we went to this place called The Deck on Laguna Beach and had some amazing Guacamole, which to be honest, I kind of got addicted to. I mean avocados, not guacamole per se, but still. And also, one of my new found favourite dishes, mussels and clams…well, more the mussels, but who cares really. Seafood fanatic alert!!!

Then we walked a little bit on the actual beach, where all the sand is and the water and I swear to God, this was the first time I actually wanted to go in to the water, but didn’t bring a swimsuit with me… LAME!

After that is was gelato time! We stood in line, like good Americans (one in training) to get our 2 scoops of gelato and some waffle cones. Yum! And while we waited in line I was the cutest chocolate shop ever with something called “Cloud Nine”. How cute?!

So let’s talk a little bit about my outfit, even though it’s super easy: Everything is from Zara! The shoes, the shorts, the shirt and even the little cute bag. I’m not a huge fan of jean shorts, I don’t really know why, maybe I just haven’t found the ONE yet, but I prefer silk, linen cotton or even leather shorts, but of course not in super hot weather. Yuck!

So that’s about it! I hope you enjoyed the little story time and let me know in the comments if you want more of these kinds of posts, or more about fashion, or music or even makeup or skincare! Until next time!

Kisses,

B

Show me your peacock

So a couple weeks ago my friends came to LA and brought me some clothes from home, so what is a fashionista’s first thought? Let’s do a photo shoot! 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

So I found this amazing photographer and we made some great shots! No, I mean GREAT shots! 😊 This is the first outfit we shot in San Pedro at the marina.

Even if it’s summertime, I try to do something fun or interesting in the outfit. This time I went with a colorful peacock bomber jacket and the amazing ‘delka’ fanny pack made by my Hungarian designer friend. I know it might be a debate if it’s cool or lame, but I think it’s all in how you wear it and I definitely wear it with pride and joy! 💁🏼‍♀️

The other main accessory were obviously the Dior sunglasses which, for a light eyed person, are life! I cannot go out without sunglasses on. It’s not even a joke! So here are the first batch of photos from San Pedro.

I’m wearing a Free People shirt, Zara bomber jacket, Gas jeans, Zara belt, delka fanny pack, Swarovski ring, Dior sunglasses.

What are your thoughts on fanny packs?

Downtown jungle

I know it’s been a while, but bare with me. I have been working like crazy over these past few months and trying to book gigs. But I managed to find the time to team up with a great photographer. We wondered around in downtown LA for a couple of hours and found some really cool and unusual places. I rocked my pantsuit and my brand new Vivienne Westwood sneakers. Yay! Check this out!

I’m wearing pantsuit from H&M, T-shirt from Zara, Vivienne Westwood sneakers, RayBan sunglasses.

Do you like to go on a playground even as adults? 👏🏻🙈

Art district in downtown LA

One of my favorite things about LA is that wherever you go, you can find interesting, artistic and creative places to shoot some photos. This is exactly what happened this time. We didn’t play it be ear, we deliberately went to the Art district in downtown LA to find the coolest spots.

The outfit was based on the cool denim jacket with the furry collar and the rest just fell into place. Even though it’s winter, you can get by with a leather skirt and some fur on top.

I’m wearing a jacket and skirt from Zara, shirt from Stradivarius and Gucci sunglasses.

Long Beach story

Another amazing shoot at the beach, but this time at Long Beach. I met up with the photographer by the beach and we clicked right away. I didn’t really have a full concept, I just wanted to capture the way I was feeling, which was great! I felt good in my skin, I felt comfortable and sexy. I know it seems weird to say this out or write it down, but I think that feeling like this about oneself is unfortunately not a very common thing…it should be though!

Anyways, it was one of the last nice days at the beach before winter kicked in so we took advantage of that and I even wet my hair with the ocean. The cheapest and easiest beach waves ever, huh?

I’m wearing top and chunky sweater coat from Zara, leather shorts from Mango and accessories from Michael Kors.

Where should we shoot next? Any ideas, let me know in the comments!

A walk on the beach

One of my favorite things in Los Angeles is that you can go down to the beach anytime you want. I️ think I️ might have said that before, but it’s really true. I’m a hopeless romantic, what can I️ say?

So this time I️ met up with an upcoming photographer/filmmaker Ou Zhang (Instagram: @ouzhangstudio) to do an analog and digital shoot without any other equipment but the camera and the gorgeous sunset. Here’s what we got out of this beautiful late afternoon.

I️ am wearing a Zara dress, DKNY sweater, Chanel foundation and Maybelline matte lipstick.

Tell me about your favorite beach in the comments below.
