The Wig Fairy experience

On thing I really love about living in LA is all the new experiences and people I meet on fun occasions like the photoshoot for The Wig Fairy. I applied for the shoot, they chose me and suddenly I find myself in a place full of gorgeous wigs and other ladies coming together for the funnest shoot ever! So let’s get to it!

First, I got some amazing makeup on, and some gorgeous lashes! I thought they did a beautiful job with the makeup, so I was ready to go!

The first wig I got was this Desperate Housewives/Stepford wives inspired one which I kind of enjoyed because it’s been a while since I had long hair. But even when I had long hair, I never had this much… 😏

Look at me pulling of the stylish mom look! Huh! Lol! Not ready yet! 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

The second look was the one where everyone said “Sorry, someone had to take the bullet…lol” so I went with it. I freakin looked like my mom! 🤣 Not that it’s a bad thing, but kind of freaked me out a little bit. But I liked the color… what do you think?

The final look was my absolute favorite! The wardrobe was very comfy and casual, but the hair…oh, that hair! I loved the color, the style and the amount of hair again I’ve never had and probably never will… 😩

But after giving it some thought and looking at the pictures I believe that I found the color that’s unique and fits me. So all in all I’m happy with my hair. ☺️

Out of the woods

One of my first photo shoots in LA was in Pasadena and the photographer had an idea to make it a ‘fairy lost in the woods’ theme. And you know me, I’m all for themes and creative ideas so I was on board immediately. And here’s what happened on that magical day.

I am wearing a skirt from H&M, shirt from Zara and this time no shoes! 🙈 Lipstick is a liquid matte lipstick from MAC. Recommend it if you want a great quality, long-lasting matte lipstick that doesn’t dry your lips. 👄💄

What is your favorite matte lipstick brand?

The magical lavender field

There are so many wonderful places in the world, but I guess we should know our own country before visiting every other. 🙂 So, on that note I decided to go a visit our legendary lavender field near Lake Balaton, in Tihany. And honestly, I was very pleased and mesmerized by the view of the lavender field. We had a chance to pick our own lavender and take some amazing photos to capture the beauty.

Also for this occasion I dyed my hair pastel pink to go along with the scenery and put on some pastel purple lipstick. Unicorn at its finest! LOL

I’m wearing shirt and bag from Zara, skirt from H&M, lipstick from Limecrime (Moonstone), pink hair with L’Oreal colorista (Dirty Pink).

What’s your favorite place in your own country? Let me know in the comments below!

A wedding in wonderland

It’s been a while since I’ve been to a wedding and this was definitely one of the best, if not the best we’ve been at. It took place on a magical place, on a farm basically, but it was carefully crafted to be suitable for hopeless city people who, let’s just admit is now, we are. It was nature but in its most beautiful and finest form. We had an absolute blast. The food was great, the guests were amazing and of course the couple was breathtakingly beautiful. The bride was one of my best friends and the groom is a great guy whom she met 3 years ago and it was meant to be. Since I was a little bit involved in the tasks leading up to the wedding, I knew it was gonna be a really fancy event. So my friend told me to go for it with my dress as well. I have lots of clothes, but not really something for an occasion like this, so I had to think and above all, shop! I had a very limited budget so I decided to take a risk and look at Aliexpress to find a suitable dress. My friend, the bride, sent me a link to this dress and I was like, well, ok, but what if it’s total crap?! So I started checking the reviews and pictures people posted wearing this dress and I decided to buy it 4 weeks before the wedding… As you see I was almost out of time, so I got the faster shipping and altogether my dress was a little over $100!! Seriously! And when it arrived I was totally blown away! It was a perfect fit! And perfectly executed!

So I put on some silver pumps underneath, which you cannot see, but they’re there and were there all night! So if there was a medal for the lady who wore high heels the most that night, well that medal would definitely go to me. LOL

I got my makeup done by the same guy who did my friend’s, aka the bride’s makeup and I did a little something with my hair to make it fun.

So here are a couple of picture of me and my boo at the wedding!

Beyond ordinary sight

I have been in love with this denim jacket for quite some time and I just couldn’t wait to make a post about it. It’s cool, edgy, fun and comfortable. It also has the quote “Beyond ordinary sight” on the left button seam that is a great motivator for the day. So we went out to the city with Dorottya Bokros photographer and made these amazing pictures.

I’m wearing coat, shirt, jeans, shoes from Zara, Dorka Petrity bag, Dior sunglasses and Limcrime lipstick, cashmere color.

Do you have a favorite denim coat? Let me know in the comments!

US beauty products

I got another round of drug store beauty products from the US and I wanted to let you know about it. In this round I’m gonna just tell you why I got these, because I haven’t tried them, so for now it’s just an information post. 🙂

FullSizeRender (5)

First off, I really-really wanted to try this L’Oreal colorista washout color, but I’m kind of scared to be honest. I really like my blonde hair, but wanted to shake it up for spring with a not so permanent change. So this seemed like the perfect chance to do so. I like the blue one better at this point, because I realised after I got the color, that I wanted the lighter pink… LOL. So now, I’m on the hunt for the lighter pink color for spring! 🙂 Have you tried this product? If yes, let me know your thoughts in the comment section and send me a picture too.

FullSizeRender (4)

Whenever I search for drug store products Neutrogena is always on the list, so this time was no exception. I have a similar product from Dior called Fix It! and I really like that, so I thought this could be a great (and cheaper) alternative. I got the lightest color there was, but I have a feeling it might be dark for my skin anyways. We’ll see.

FullSizeRender (3)

This is another Neutrogena product that I tried already and I have to tell you that it is perfection! It’s a moisturizer and it is light, smells great and makes my skin smooth and beautiful. I love it already!

FullSizeRender (2)

I read about this product that Gigi Hadid wore this while hosting the American Music Awards, so if it’s good enough for Gigi, it’s good enough for me. 🙂 I haven’t tried it because I have some powder left, but I cannot wait to do so! And when I do, I will let you know my findings.

Obviously I couldn’t go without getting a few lipsticks. I saw an ad about Blake Lively’s L’Oreal lipstick colors and since I love Blake and I have similar features (obviously I’m not talking about the killer body, rather the blonde hair and blue eyes…LOL) so I assumed these colors will look good on me too. We’ll see, but I can already tell that they smell amazing.

So that’s it for now, hope you guys like this post and let me know your thoughts about these products if you have tried them. See you next time!

Weekly beauty review

While I was thinking about what to post next, I noticed that every week I purchase some beauty products for fun. So then I thought, why not post about my experiences with them?

So now here it is!

IMG_2568

Fist let’s start with the masks. I don’t really know this brand, but when I see the word hyaluronic, I immediately take a second look. This mask is really nice, it has a little bit tingly feeling when on your face and works wonders. I recommend it fully!

img_2567.jpg

Another mask this time from Garnier. I heard about this mask, so I decided to try it out and honestly, it was a very nice experience. It hydrated my skin very well and my skin felt great afterward. The only thing I would advice against is putting anything on your skin after using the mask. Because I did and it was not a good idea. It made my skin very oily, so after you’re done with this mask, just leave your skin be and go to bed.

img_2569.jpg

During wintertime my skin is very dry due to the weather and also due to showering with extreme hot water…duh! So I decided to try a real classic in lotions. I love the smell of original Nivea, but to be honest I wasn’t very satisfied. It is very oily and leaves an oily feeling on my skin as well. After the oily feeling rubs off, my skin is very soft like a baby’s butt. But then, the next day when I finish my shower and if I don’t moisturize, my skin feels very dry, especially around my elbow area. So I kind of stopped using it… 😦

img_2572.jpg

To be 100% honest I totally bought this item because I loved the tiny pink bubbles in it. LOL It’s actually a primer with glowy effect. It’s very light and I’m not sure it really does anything, but the texture is very light, so not too much under foundation. And it’s so pretty!!!

IMG_2570

I wanted to try this nail polish for a while now and it was time to do so. It’s not a nail polish in the traditional sense, since you can see these are little glitter-kind-if-things that stay on your nails. I liked it a lot, because my nails are very thin and cannot really hold any nail polish even for a day. But this totally stayed on and I was able to put another coat and another coat on my nails and looked good for several days. The problem came when I had to take it off…. So forget nail polish remover… I had to scratch it off and it wasn’t fun! BUT it looked good, stayed on, so I guess there’s no reward without work.

Let me know in the comment section if you tried any of these products and how you liked them!

Luxury lipstick test

In my previous post about luxury make ups I said that I would dedicate a whole post to luxury lipsticks as I collected quite a few over the past year, so here it is.

img_1754

img_1771

Urban Decay – Oblivion ($17)

This lipstick is the BOMB! I love it so much! It’s truly matte, and although it looks like a dark nude colour, on lips it turns into a darker, purple-ish matte lipstick that’s not drying and super long lasting. So make sure you check out some Urban Decay colours here.

img_1756

MAC Matte Strip Poker – Limited Edition

This lipstick was a part of Kelly Osbourne’s limited collection and I bought it because that time matte lipstick was totally rare and unique. It is a great lipstick although might be a little too bright for my skin, meaning that it makes my lips disappear (yes, at that time I didn’t know how to pick a nude lipstick, I thought the lighter the better…). I usually use it for ombre lips or put on just a little and blend it, because it’s long lasting either way.

img_1763

MAC Satin Myth – ($17)

I didn’t give up on the nude lipstick hunt, but as you can see I kind of bought almost the same shade over again. LOL I use it the same way I use the other and I have to say it is a great quality lipstick which you can still purchase here.

img_1759

MAC Cremesheen Coral Bliss – ($17)

Yea, I have a few MAC lipstick, but let’s be honest, they are great. This one is a perfect coral colour for spring and summer. Not too bright, little shimmery and very hydrating. You can still purchase it here.

img_1758

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet 42 L’éclatante –  ($37)

This was my first really expensive lipstick I bought and I had mixed feelings about it. The colour is perfection, the perfect shade of pink for the summer. It is a matte lipstick but my only concern is that it’s not that hydrating and it doesn’t cover your lips fully, so after a while I could see my lips getting a little chipped. It can also be on my part that I should have hydrated my lips before, but I kind of thought this lipstick would do all that for me. LOL. Anyways, I love the colour and the packaging as well. You can order it here.

img_1752

Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo 208 Roman – ($37)

This is a very pigmented, hydrating lipstick. The only downside is that it’s not too long lasting, so make sure if you use this, you check your lipstick from time to time and correct it if necessary. Get it here.

img_1769img_1770

img_1767img_1768

Dior Addict 266 Delight, Dior Addict 554 It Pink  ($35)

The Dior Addict lipstick is a gorgeous lipstick, it’s super hydrating and it gives a subtle but beautiful colour to your lips. The packaging is so chic and pretty, doesn’t really have a smell but it’s just so fancy. I recommend it if you want to have a subtle pink shade to your lips in the upcoming spring. You can check out all the colour here.

img_1774img_1775

MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour – Flesh Stone ($21)

I saved the best for last! This Mac liquid lip colour is hands down the best I used (except maybe for Sephora’s lip stains). It is super long lasting, very light on the lips and the colour is just perfection. It’s so easy to apply and really stays on even after you eat. The price is affordable, so make sure you get it here.

Let me know what are your favourite lipsticks so I can try them out! 🙂

Luxury make-up test

Previously I made a post about drug store make-up products that I really like, but I have to be frank with you guys, I got my hands on some luxury brand make-up products over the last few years and they are just as precious to my heart. Since I have quite a few lipsticks I decided to make a whole new post about just those, so stay tuned. So here are some of my favourites.

img_1737

MAC Strobe cream hydratant lumineux ($12)

This is a MAC primer that makes your skin look flawless and I absolutely love it. This to-go package is very affordable ($12) and you can get it here.

img_1735

Chanel Les Beiges ($60)

I have two Chanel foundations and this one is my favourite. It is light, has hyaluronic acid in it which makes the tiny wrinkles disappear. It also has SPF 25, so it protects your skin from harmful sun rays. And on top of it all, it smells incredible. It’s not a high coverage foundation, but it gives a healthy glow and for me it’s perfect, not too heavy, not too light. I highly recommend it! You can get it here.

img_1736

Chanel Perfection Lumiére velvet ($50)

Another Chanel foundation that is a whole lot different than the previous one. It has more coverage and a very interesting texture. It gives a matte finish without any powder, but it’s not that moisturizing than the Les Beiges one, so you definitely need a primer under this one. It also has an SPF 15, but I would recommend a higher SPF moisturizer under it. It does have a nice smell and better coverage than the other. Order here.

img_1746

Dior Fix It ($36)

This product was one of my dream to get my hands on. It is a primer, concealer all in one which you can use on your eyes, lips and face. So convenient and so easy to use. I can only recommend this! Really! Not much more to say but the fact that this is used on supermodels at the Dior runway show before they go on the catwalk. Enough said! Order here.

img_1750

MAC Blot powder/pressed ($27)

This is a pretty standard powder that controls oil, since I have an oily T-zone as most of us do, it’s perfect for that. It’s transparent and not too heavy. Get it here.

img_1740

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for lips and cheeks – colour Pale Pink ($30)

This magical thing was one of the first purchases of luxury products of mine. I wanted a creamy blush because I felt like I could work with that better than a powder blush so it was an added bonus that I could also use it for a lip tint. I couldn’t find the exact same product, but this might be it with a new design.

img_1738

Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color – Ombre cream satinee ($25)

This was another dream product of mine. I wasted to have that summer, shimmering, peachy look all the magazine girls had but without it being sticky and this is the perfect product for that. I mean it, if you want that wet-look, this is the one product you need to have. And it lasts all day without creasing! Get it here!

img_1741

Estée Lauder New Dimension Shape + Skulpt Eye Kit ($40)

A whole palette, I thought it would save me so much time and effort…Well, unfortunately I was wrong. I love this brand, because I use their moisturizers, but to be honest this was a big disappointment. There is a primer on the left, a shimmering creamy shadow in the middle and a creasing brown powder like product on the right. Even if I use the primer or try a powder eye shadow under it, the middle eye shadow creases within minutes of putting it on. And the left brown powder is just not that easy to get in this brush, but will not work with other brushes. Even thought it looks beautiful when I put it on, minutes later I have to fix it. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but it does not work for me. 😦

img_1744

Sephora Colorful Shadow & Liner ($14)

I don’t know if Sephora is considered a luxury product, but I’m gonna put it here, because I really like their stuff. This eye shadow and line is really worth its price. It shimmers, very pigmented and stays on all day. Get one yourself here!

img_1749

Ka-Brow! ($24)

We live in a world where eyebrows and more important than ever and I thank my lucky star that I never had to really shape them, so now I just have to fill them out a little and I’m good to go. I tried brow pencils as well, but this is a genius product. Easy to use, lasts a very long time and comes with its own brush. They have other products you can use on your eyebrows, so check them out here.

img_1742

Diorshow Iconic Overcurl ($29.50)

This mascara is a must in my book. The first time I tried Diorshow was from a magazine sample and I knew this was it! I have a lot of eyelashes, but since I dark blonde, they need a little help to be visible. So this mascara make them full, long and black as the night. It stays on, doesn’t come off and makes your lashes look gorgeous. Get it here.

img_1747

Dior Nide Air Glowing Gardens Illuminating Powder – 002 Glowing nude

I saved the best for last. This highlighter is a dream. Like seriously. It comes with a gorgeous velvet case and a cute kabuki brush to make it even more fancy. It shimmers just the right amount stays on all day and the color is just perfection. It was a fortune but worth every penny I have to tell you. It was a limited edition product, so unavailable at the moment, but let’s hope they bring it back for spring.

Drug store make up test

So the last time I was in the USA last November, I decided to get some great makeup for my collection. The only problem was that I didn’t have lots of money to pack up in Sephora, so I decided to search for the best drug store makeup products that are used by professionals, meaning makeup artists and of course, celebrities.

Here’s what I purchased on challenge:

I got these items in different places such as CVS Pharmacy, Target and Wal-Mart.

Listed as on of the best primers, I got this Maybelline primer-base which is pretty great to be honest. It soothes the skin and fills small wrinkles.

Since I bought a primer I obviously had to get a foundation as well, so I got this highly praised Maybelline Fit me! foundation. I love this product very much, it stays on all day and my skin doesn’t get oily. The only problem is that it doesn’t have SPF. So my solution…

…is to buy ANOTHER primer, just like the one I got, but with SPF. Waste of money you say? Well, not really if you think about it… ahaha But to be honest, this one is pretty great at well, you can use it by itself and it gives a healthy glow to your skin without putting on anything else.

Then came an eyeshadow called Color Tattoo, color leather from Maybelline (I guess this brand is considered a great drug store makeup brand and it really is). This eyeshadow is amazing! You can use it on its own as a matte brown color, or use it as a base and build it up. I use is on its own lot of times because I like a natural look. It stays on, doesn’t crease and looks pretty.

Another quick, happy mistake of mine was this Covergirl Lashblast Fusion mascara. Since I’m blonde and my lashes are not that visible on their own, I always used black mascara. This time when I grabbed this Covergirl favorite I accidentally bought a brown one. First I panicked so I bought a black one a day later… but to be honest, when I tried it I ended up liking it. It makes your everyday makeup more natural so you can go harder with a black one on special occasions.

One of the things I got obsessed with is doing my brows. When I looked for a great product that is quick and effective I came across this L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper. It’s quick, it’s easy to use and looks great!

And finally the lipstick. This was the first time I saw black lipstick at all, so I was instantly fascinated. And who else could pull off representing a black lipstick than Katy Perry?! So she did. And all the other colors in her collection were very exciting so I got a purple one as well. It’s not too pigmented, so you can even wear it every day, but still cool enough that people will ask, “what lipstick are you wearing?” Or “are you cold?” Anyways, it’ll be the talk of the town.

So that was my experiment with drug store makeup. Tell me your favorites and if you tries any of these!

Xo,

B
